LuxAid Challenge Fund - LuxDev launches its co-financing program of up to EUR 140,000 to boost innovative high-impact entrepreneurial projects

LuxAid Challenge Fund is a new initiative from Luxembourg Cooperation aimed at supporting pioneering approaches to tackling development challenges, thus contributing to the improvement of living conditions and the protection of the environment. Through this first call for projects, up to 15 Burkinabè, Malian and Senegalese companies offering an innovation in food security or distance learning will be able to benefit from co-financing of between 50,000 and 140,000 EUR (around 30 to 90 million FCFA).

The call for projects targets start-up companies that have already tested their product or service on the market with first customers and have therefore achieved commercial revenue. Co-financing from the LuxAid Challenge Fund will support companies to implement projects lasting 1-2 years and to face the following challenges: marketing and increasing the customer base, matching the business model to the market, strengthening teams, preparation for a first external investment.

LuxAid Challenge Fund is part of project MAE/023 – Private Sector Instruments, a project launched by the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MAEE) and implemented by LuxDev, the Luxembourg agency for Development Cooperation.
